Join us for the launch of the pilot phase of Growing Right‘s pop-up season … at the OEFFA’s 38th Annual Conference, from Feb. 9th-Feb. 11th, 2017, in historic Dayton, Ohio!

Growing Right will be installing ourselves at the OEFFA Conference in two ways:

1. Our POP-UP INSTALLATION  will be set-up in the Exhibit Hall from Thursday, 2/9 through Saturday, 2/11. The Exhibit Hall is free and open to the public on Thursday evening, from 4-7pm!

Our installation will feature multi-media & listening encounters with Growing Right oral history interviews, alongside a co-curated exhibition on the print culture of the Ohio ecological food and farm movement, 1970s-Now!

On Thursday PM, community archivist & co-curator Scott Williams (also a long-time Ohio food movement activist) will be on-hand at our pop-up to answer questions about his collection, and the exhibition.

2. We’ll also be hosting a PUBLIC PROGRAM + NARRATIVE STAGE on Thursday night (2/9) from 5-6.30pm. This public program will touch briefly on principles of oral history, share stories “from the field” from the first phase of Growing Right interviews — including photos, interview clips & multi-media from project journeys; and will conclude with a live mini-oral history-style interview with early Ohio ecological farmers Doug Siebert and Leslie Garcia of Peach Mountain Organic Farm in Greene County.  We’ll also have the chance to share more about Growing Right‘s plans for our summer pop-up season — learn how you can bring Growing Right to your own community! The program will be followed by a robust Q & A.

We can’t wait to see you in Dayton! Stop by the booth to pick up one of our lovely Jeremy Purser-designed project postcards (available in a collectible series of four); or chat with us about what we’re up to! For any questions or accessibility accomodations, please contact us at  growingrightproject [at] gmail [dot] comWe are committed to having our pop-up exhibition/installation be accessible to all, including those with visual or hearing impairments. Please let us know how our prototype design can better serve you.

We look forward to meeting you!

2/11: THANK YOU ALL for coming to visit us at #OEFFAConf2017! It was a pleasure to meet you, and to talk oral history, our pop-up exhibition, and the grassroots history of the ecological food & farm movement in Ohio!
